SGS is pleased to announce its Lakefield facility has become a certified laboratory in Canada for amenability testing of glycine leaching technologies, GlyLeach™ and GlyCat™.  Glycine leaching is an exciting new technology capable of extracting base and precious metals from oxide and sulphide ores in an environmentally responsible manner.  Recent GlyCatTM piloting in Australia demonstrated in four separate programs the technologies ability to reduce cyanide consumption considerably and produce a cyanide free tailings from a flotation concentrate.

SGS is looking forward to working closely with the MPS team and Dr Peter Kondos of MPS and Dr Yeonuk Choi of Yakum Consulting (MPS’ partner in Canada) in the testing, piloting and further development of this innovative technology.  The addition of the GlyLeach™ and GlyCat™ technology is an important addition to our existing suite of extractive technologies currently offered to SGS clients.
