Lakefield, ON - September 25, 2018 – With new mini flotation pilot plant capabilities in Canada, SGS will continue to provide cost-saving services to the mining, engineering and financial communities. This new capability in Canada adds to our existing mini flotation pilot plant capabilities currently offered in Chile.

SGS experienced metallurgical professionals use pilot plant testing to demonstrate and confirm the flowsheet developed at the bench-scale level.

The mini flotation pilot plants require only a fraction of the sample required for a full flotation pilot plant, resulting in substantial costs savings for organizations in the mining sector.  While running at 10 – 15 kg/h, these mini plants need as little as 250 kg of sample, compared to over 2 tonnes for large-scale pilot plants.

As a resultorganizations benefit from lower sample acquisition costs and can accurately determine grade and recovery earlier in the deposit evaluation process.

Mini flotation pilot plants can be effectively applied across all commodity types that use flotation in their beneficiation scheme, and can provide engineering design data. These plants can also:

  • Run continuous flotation campaigns, including re-circulating streams.
  • Simulate the continuous operation of full scale rougher, scavenger and cleaner circuits.
  • Develop full circuit flowsheet designs.
  • Determine mass balances.
  • Produce grade vs. recovery curves.
  • Provide detailed engineering data.

With over 75 years’ experience serving clients in Canadas mining sector, SGS has earned the reputation as the leading supplier of proven, technologically advanced metallurgical services. Our demonstrated success in metallurgical and process design has provided thousands of companies with effective flowsheets and practical technical solutions to processing problems.
