August Guelph Service Bulletin
Beyond the typical N-P2O5-K2O testing of fertilizer, SGS can also measure all mineral constituents and heavy metals in your fertilizer product, giving you clear picture of all the nutrients being added to your soil.
CROP QUALITY & NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT
From the perspective of nutrient management, yield is the predominant consideration. However, adequate crop nutrition also plays a role in overall plant health, and therefore quality. Nutrient deficiencies can cause many unwanted scenarios beyond yield loss, such as cannibalization of stalks leading to lodging, susceptibility to disease and insect attack, and lower grain quality as examples.Although the payback of yield response is much easier to measure, minimizing losses through proper nutrient management is equally important. SGS offers the testing and tools required to optimize efficiency of nutrient management.
SAMPLE DROP OFF, PICK UP AND SHIPPING
The laboratory welcomes walk-in traffic for sample drop-off, and also offers a drop box where after-hours samples can be deposited. For clients in the vicinity of an hour’s drive from Guelph, we offer sample pick-up for a small fee, which returns samples to the laboratory same-day. Clients with accounts can utilize our preferred shipping rates, which are paid collect upon reception and invoiced back at a rate approximately half that of retail courier.
