SGS Now Offers Multi Residue Pesticide Screens
SGS Vancouver’s laboratory can provide multi residue analysis (MRA) screens for herbicides, insecticides, pesticides and other metabolites. Able to qualify over 400 compounds while using the most advanced technology available, SGS Vancouver can support the agriculture and food industry by providing the information needed for specific product uses and export to other countries.
Pesticide residues can be defined in two ways:
- Pesticides that are left in produce in minuscule amounts from farm practices after harvesting
- Degradation products of parent pesticide within the crop
Residue analysis methods at our Vancouver laboratory cater to both definitions by analyzing the sample extracts by the use of liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC MSMS) and gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC MS).
Our pesticide residue analysis laboratory operates under strict guidelines, and is accredited to ISO 17025 standards. The laboratory is staffed with scientists, technicians, and quality assurance personnel with greater than 15 years of years in residue analysis – as well as having graduate and post graduate degrees in the fields of Chemistry and Food Science. We adhere to the highest standards of global governance. Using our services ensures that your food commodities satisfy the world’s regulatory requirements for levels of pesticide residues.
The laboratory also conducts nutrition labeling for packaged foods, oil & tallow analyses, mycotoxin in grain products, and can provide many other services.
