SGS is pleased to announce the opening of a fully equipped commercial geochemistry laboratory in Cochrane, Ontario, Canada. The new Cochrane laboratory has been strategically located to service the growing needs of the minerals exploration industry in North-eastern Ontario and North-western Quebec, Canada. SGS is constantly reviewing opportunities to expand services and is committed to servicing the minerals industry globally. Official start up of the laboratory is scheduled for July 1, 2011.
The Cochrane laboratory will provide a variety of services to the technical community including:
· Sample preparation for soils, drillcore and reverse circulation samples· Fire assay for gold with ICP-OES, AAS and gravimetric finish · Carbon and sulphur analysis by LECO and Coulometry· Trace metal analysis by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) · Gateway to SGS’ expertise in sampling, resource assessment, geometallurgy and metallurgical expertise
The new Cochrane laboratory will integrate with our currently unmatched geochemistry laboratory network in North America (Lakefield, Red Lake, Sudbury, Telkwa, Toronto, Vancouver, Elko, Durango and Las Balsas). In addition, it will complement an unparalleled network of over 50 commercial laboratories globally, many of which are accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
